Matt Schofield’s long awaited studio album ‘Siftin Thru Ashes’ is finally here. You can get it at nugenerecords.com ahead of the national and international release, which will be in October (September in Holland). Place your order now and we will ship in the first week of September. This CD has a bit of everything that fans of the Trio have come to love – funky grooves, swinging Blues – plus a few things you might not have expected, like a great cover of the Boxtops 60s smash hit, The Letter.
Since you had to wait so long for the studio album, we decided to add a second album for simultaneous release as a little bonus. ‘Live at The Jazz Café’ has material from the original ‘Live’ album and from ‘Siftin Thru Ashes’ but since the guys rarely play anything the same way twice this is a must have for your record collection - plus there’s a dynamite instrumental version of the Isley Brothers ‘It’s Your Thing’. This album is only available at nugenerecords.com
Soundclips for both these albums are on the site now.
The Summer (Aug 05) edition of Guitarist magazine, the UK’s bible of all things six stringed, carries a major Blues feature and “Nine future Bluesmen you must hear.” The only non-American in the feature is Matt Schofield. Praise indeed!
And more good news. We have obtained a supply of Ian Siegal’s previous album “Standing In the Morning” and you can now purchase it at NugeneRecords.com. This is an amazing album on which Ian shows his diverse musical influences.
And finally, apologies for the delay in getting the free downloads up on the site, but they are there now, in a choice of lossless audio or MP3 format. There are three tracks and we will add more later. Go check’em out.
May your discs spin sweetly
