Ian Siegal is regarded as one of the finest Blues voices on this side of the Atlantic. It has often been said that had Ian been around in the Sixties his name today would very probably rank alongside those of Joe Cocker, Van Morrison and Eric Clapton.
This CD and Ian's first on an internationally distributed label, sees Ian returning to his roots – the raw, passionate, urban Blues that fired his early passion for the Blues. It also shows him to be a commanding songwriter in a Muddy Waters-meets-Tom Waits vein.
Equally at home sitting on a stool with an old resonator guitar, or fronting his band with Stratocaster in hand, his voice and guitar playing are emotional and powerful. Rarely does anyone go away from an Ian Siegal concert unmoved by his emotional connection with, and depth of understanding of the Blues. This album captures that power and depth.
